Marriage Elijah Lij CHAPMAN - 14 February 1894 ‎(Age 29)‎ Nairne, South Australia, Australia

Biographical Notes

Hide Details Note: Ann was just a baby when her father died.

When Ann was 29 years she married Elijah Chapman, 30 years, a "farmer". The marriage took place at her mother's home in Nairne. Albert Chapman, carpenter of Callington and Jane ‎[Dishon]‎ Spence, tailoress of Nairne were witnesses.

Ann lived for many years after her husband's death in 1929. Every Christmas she would go with the Roy Chapmans and Thelma Chapman to Glenelg. They rented a house and went to the beach everyday. We have a picture of Aunt Ann in a boat with young Bob Chapman rowing.

On Ann's death certificate, it states that she had been born in Nairne 86 years previously and died "Sydney Road, Nairne," at the Spence-Chapman family home. She had been nursed by her niece Beryl Chapman Boase. Ann was a "pensioner, widow of Elijah Chapman." H.E. Carr of Mount Barker was the undertaker.

Ann died of cerebral thrombosis and cerebral arteriosclerosis in 1951.
