Hide Details Note: Fanny was much like her mother, very straight laced and strict. She belonged to the Salvation Army, which was very important to her. She nursed her mother in her old age.

"Fanny was a very genteel person, who kept to herself. Her house was old-fashioned. She wouldn't have electricity or a radio. She used candles, and the windows went down at 4 p.m. to shut out the cold air. Every Sunday Fanny went to the Salvation Army Citadel and also during the week. The Army band used to play in front of her house."

Her house was originally a house and shop kept by her mother. Apparently it had haberdashery: cottons and wools; however, it closed in the 1940s.

Fanny was slim and had a little voice. Rupert Ross was "her boy." Her garden had vines and an apricot tree. Rupert delivered milk to the milk house. She had a drip case outside.

Fanny was chesty at the end with bronchitis. She died at the St. Clair's Hospital, near Hyde Park Road, Goodwood in the Mitchell Street area.
