Shep's Place Family Tree

Henry and his wife Rebecca, who was ten years younger than he, had a family of at least five children. Rebecca had been born in India, but was a British Subject. Their children were born in various places including Brighton, Sussex; York, Yorkshire; Coverntry, Warwickshire; Ireland and Hounslow. This suggests that the family moved fairly frequently.

As early as the 1841 English census, Rebecca 20 and Henry Kauntze 30 years were at the Hounslow Barracks in Isleworth, Heston, Middlesex.

Living in the Hulme Cavalry Barracks in 1861 in Chorton, Hulme, Lancashire, the Kauntzes were as follows: Henry 53, Rebecca 43, H.S. 20, H.T. 18, W. 13, R.C. 11, T.A. six and E. three. The use of initials in census reports should be prohibited!!
