Note: In an unidentified short biography of Joshua Ruttencutter and Sarah Bailey, it says that "Joshua and Sarah lived in the Point Pleasant district of Pleasants County, West Virginia. For a number of years they had an apple orchard. My grandfather, Abram M. Ruttencutter, told me about picking apples for his uncle Josh. He said that they packed them in barrels. The barrels were then hauled to the Ohio River and loaded on flat boats for shipment up river to Wheeling, and down river to Cincinnati. There was a sign "Ruttencutter Orchards" on the country road. That was Joshua and Sarah's place. In 1874 Joshua and Sarah moved to Mason County, West Virginia...."

_CHILDREN Evelyn Proffitt, grandaughter of Wm. E. Ruttencutter, says that she has no records of William Ruttencutter's sisters. They were never mentioned. She remembers that one came to visit once--that's all. Strange. Even if they had left the area, certainly she would have heard of her Ruttencutter great-aunts.
