John's young wife Alice, 20 years, was listed as a "boarder." Daughter Sarah A. aged eight years, had a young friend in the household who was Minerva's granddaughter, Mary E. Kelly, ten years old. Mary was at school. Texico, New Mexico, where Minerva Niday Howser died, is right on the border with Texas in eastern New Mexico, near Clovis.
